This visit was marked by the signature of a framework partnership agreement between the OFPPT and the Chamber of Crafts of the Eastern Region, on the one hand, and the OFPPT and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of the Eastern Region "CCISO", on the other hand, in order to institutionalize the participatory approach adopted by the Office and thus promote vocational training in the Region.

Among the major axes of the 1st convention signed by Mr Mohammed AZZAOUI, regional director of the OFPPT and Mr Driss BOUJAWALA, President of the Chamber of Crafts of the East, the development of skills and the enhancement of professional qualifications of craftsmen in the East region.

 

Regarding the second agreement, signed by Mr Mohammed AZZAOUI and the President of CCISO, Mr Abdelhamid AL JARROUDI, it aims to establish a Governance Council for Vocational Training Institutions in the province of Nador.

 

Through these two conventions, the OFPPT aims to forge dynamic partnerships, to act jointly in the field of vocational training, and to train the skills necessary to meet the needs of the economic fabric of the Eastern Region and thus contribute effectively to regional development. This visit was also an opportunity for the Director General to meet Mr Abdelnbi BIOUI, President of the Oriental Regional Council, to inquire about the progress of the agreement signed in May 2016, aimed at creating 12 vocational training institutions and a business centre.

 

During this meeting, Mr BIOUI expressed the will of the Regional Council to build an institute dedicated to fishing professions in the province of Nador, in parallel with the major project of the port of Nador.

 

Other personality met, Mr Mabrouk Tabet, Governor of the Province of Jerada, as part of the operationalization of an agreement already signed for the improvement of the training system. During this visit, Mrs TRICHA attended a presentation of the region's 2018 programme contract, which aims to train more than 39,000 trainees, create two institutions, the Berkane Institute specialising in the agri-food and olive industry and the Midar Institute specialising in applied technology (under an agreement with the Midar Provincial Council). This will bring the number of establishments in the region to 35 VETs. Mrs TRICHA also took this opportunity to visit several institutions in Oujda and Jerrada and meet our partners from CGEM, FNIH, the Regional Tourism Council, UNIDO and the ILO.
